October Moon

Obituary Orbit

The pale and pickled punk of planets,
In obituary orbit 'round our living rock.
What does your dusted stone eye witness?
What do your frozen mountains touch?
Such fools that call you lovers' light,
A beacon for beloved dreams.
To seek in you a guide and friend.
But end for you just tide and time,
Nor rhyme nor wit will make you more,
Than headstone on the black space shore.
